To provide a Christian environment that encourages children to become good citizens and life-long learners through play, exploration, invention, problem solving and critical thinking.

The St. David's Episcopal Preschool curriculum is based on four respected and established models and standards in the field of early childhood education: The National Association for the Education of Young Children Developmentally Appropriate Guidelines, the High/Scope Curriculum,  the Creative Curriculum and Forest Kindergarten. In addition, we encourage each staff member to use his or her own expertise in lesson planning and classroom management.

• NAEYC Developmentally Appropriate Guidelines - The National Association for the Education of Young Children is the largest professional organization of early childhood educators.

• High/Scope Curriculum - This curriculum is founded on the belief that young children learn best through active learning.

• Creative Curriculum - This curriculum emphasizes the teacher's role in creating and maintaining interest areas or centers to facilitate a child's learning.

• Forest Kindergarten - This education model embraces the outdoor environment to create a "classroom without walls" where children are allowed to freely navigate the world around them.
